So, I did another one of these memes, this time ganked from [info]minidiamond & [info]cette_fille07, even though I have a pitiful amount of icons at the moment. *g*

❶ Reply to this post, and I will pick six of your icons.
➋ Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
➌ Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
➍ This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.

[info]minidiamond chose:

Icons, wh00t wh00t )

[info]cette_fille07 chose:

Icons, wh00t wh00t (part 2) )

Now that bout of randomness is over, I bid you farewell for the night.

"Well, I'm finally here....". Pretty boring and generic, really.

Okay, this cheered me right up: videos of Klonoa Wii in... French and Spanish!

French:

Spanish:

I just like hearing stuff dubbed into foreign languages, okay. IT INTERESTS ME.

I like Klonoa's French voice. It's cute. Balue's French voice is awesome. And Ghadius' Spanish voice SCARES me. That's probably the general idea. ^_^

But what cheered me up the most? JOKER'S LAUGH. In both videos. Holy shit. I can't remember the last time I LOL'd so hard at the sound of a fictional character giggling. And that's not a bad thing at all. Oh man. I'm creasing up.

I find the randomest/stupidest things funny, I swear.

So, yes, I've been playing the Klonoa remake, lately, because the original game is one of my favourite platformers ever. Yes, it's short, kind of easy and very kid-friendly (though it does have the occasional "OMG WTF" and "holy shit this is difficult" moment), but who cares, I love it to bits.

It's pretty much the same as the original, just with improved graphics, all the characters have undergone slight redesigns (Klonoa himself more closely resembles the way he looks in Klonoa 2 than he does in the original game, and his outfit is different), new camera angles in the cutscenes, some new extra features, and the option for both the original Phantomile dialogue, and a new English dub (although the Phantomile dialogue itself has been re-dubbed, I noticed).

I started playing it through using the Phantomile dub, but I've been watching Euan play through the English dub. I thought it would be utterly cringe-worthy, but, surprisingly, it is actually pretty good:

Okay, so Klonoa's rather teenage-sounding and Sonic-esque voice does take some getting used to, and I will always prefer the original, childlike voice, but, once you get used to it, it isn't that bad. I love Ghadius' English voice, though - he sounds like he's channelling Tony Jay. :D Okay, yes, it isn't as deep or as commanding as the late Jay's voice, but the way the lines are delivered are remarkably similar.

And Joka/Joker sounds a bit like Meowth. XD

Rest In Peace, Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett.

It's my mum's birthday tomorrow. I finally managed to decide on some gifts for her, so hopefully she'll like them and won't end up selling or accidentally breaking them...

For the past few days, I've been slogging my way through Crash: Mind Over Mutant, because I've been in a very Crash-y mood lately and I've been wanting to play this game for abso-freaking-lutely ages. All in all, I love it, it's hilarious as usual, and it is a lot more rounded game than Crash of the Titans (though I do love that game, too) - it's actually got an equal amount of classic-style platforming along with the new-school combat. It does have a few flaws, though, that I hope will be ironed out in future games, and I'm a little disappointed by the shortness of story mode. Never mind.

I'm also about to start playing the Klonoa remake. Whoot!

Aaaand now I'm hungry. Again.

What a hectic lunch break I had today.

I used the time I had to nip into town to buy some more of Jem's birthday present. On my way back, I decided to get my lunch in the less-popular bakery (there was a much smaller queue XD), only to find that they don't accept card payments. So, they held the stuff I wanted to buy back for me whilst I dashed up the street to the bank. After eventually managing to purchase the food, I decided to have a sip of my Cola on the way back to my workplace - only to have the thing erupt all over me in the middle of the street. Greeeaaat.

In other news, Vivi's eye has been really, really gungey lately, so I spent a while trying to get all the hardened gunk away from it and also clearing out the fresh goo seeping out of it. :\ I really hope her general health improves soon.

Time to go and eat some bacon sarnies for the first time in years now. Yum.

Lately, me and Euan have been having a little furry visitor frequently coming to our garden. It's a small, sweet and very friendly white-and-tortoiseshell cat, and it usually comes in for a fuss (and to have a gander at the guinea pigs...). It has even wandered into our house, something my highly terratorial two aren't exactly thrilled about (they have often chased it out). We've decided to refer to the cat by the name of "Munchkin", because we have no idea what its real name is.

Today, when I was walking home from work, I spotted Munchkin under a car. It also saw me, so came out for a quick fuss. I then started to walk home, but guess who followed me all the way home and tried to get in my front door? XD Unfortunately for Munchkin, Snufkin was in the hallway. It took one look at the latter and went running for the hills. XD Poor thing. Snufkin's about twice its size. XD (Seriously. Snufkin is a big boy. He isn't chubby, far from it - he's very slender, but extremely long.)

Now for some pancakes. Yum.

...Sod's Law says I remember what else I meant to update about after I turn the computer off, or something.

My finger was still bleeding last night. Joy.

I started dicking around on Soul Calibur IV again last night, because I've been neglecting it. For some bizarre reason, I had the strangest desire to customise Voldo by making him wear even less than he usually does. BECAUSE I LOVE THE BENDY BDSM FREAK, OKAY.

Ahem. Yes. Anyway. I need to unlock more equipment on there, soon.

Father's Day and Jem's birthday fall on the same day this year. Hmmm, how should I plan this one out...?

...And, shit, I just remembered again that I need to buy my mother's birthday present soon. I have no idea what to get her. o_O I'm a bit wary of getting her CDs she asks for any more, since she's decided to sell a bunch of ones I gave her as gifts on eBay...

Wow, I'm bored.

Just returned from a shopping trip that took a lot longer than I wanted it to. Damn book section, distracting me like that.

Still, using some vouchers of mine, I bought myself a copy of The Eyes of the Dragon to add to my Stephen King collection.

I have two callus-type things on my left foot which have been really freaking painful lately, and, on my way back from the store, one of them was really, really sore and I had to half-limp home. It didn't help that I gave myself an unpleasant little blister on my right foot. Ouch.

In other news, I'm really pissed off at something I can't get into right now, but it is nothing to do with me.

I need food soon and oh shit, I forgot to start heating up the oven. Bollocks.

Empty parking garages, roadside motels, dark caves, dank basements, overgrown forests—what kind of setting makes you feel nervous?

Certain areas of town, especially when there are less-than-savoury individuals wandering around, crowded streets, and hospitals (especially when there's hardly anyone on the ward).

ETA: Also, being outside, alone, at night or in the dark, and being alone in a big house. Even being alone in my in-laws' house has been known to unnerve me.

Bye bye, paid account. You shall be upgraded once I can afford you again. XD

It was, as ever, tricky to narrow my icons down to 15. Feh.

First things first - I'd like to welcome [info]cette_fille07 to my LJ, and a belated welcome for [info]chiakitoma, too. ^_^ Sorry to be inflicting you guys with a huge wad of ranty entries at the moment - hopefully I'm not scaring anyone off.

Yesterday at work, I saw someone I haven't seen for bloody years - my old school friend, Vicki. The last time I saw her was when I was still working at the pharmacy of doom. She and a guy - who I presumed to be her boyfriend - were buying a nappy dispenser, so I wonder if she has a kid now? Anyway, we had a quick chat and a catch-up. She seems well. :)

I'm still worried about all sorts of things, but I'm trying to take my mind off of them.

Also, Euan rearranged the bedroom whilst I was doing my overtime shift, like we've been planning for a while. It looks a lot better and much more spacious. We also put up some pictures, and a couple of Oriental-style wallscrolls we bought at a car boot sale.

Now that rather boring entry is out of the way... TV time!

David Carradine was found dead this morning.

Holy shit. That's just awful.

Rest in Peace.

Still here, guys. *crickets chirping*

Not a lot's been going on lately. I've managed to bag myself some more overtime, I've started attempting speedruns on Tomb Raider I & II in my spare time (and I'm totally jealous of some far better speedruns I saw on YouTube - apparently the guy's done both glitch-free and glitch-heavy variants, but holy crap, that guy's good - my speedruns are going to be mostly glitch-free, BTW, 'cos that's just the way I like to play), and I've been sweating my arse off because it's been really freaking hot.

If it's like this now, then what the hell is it going to be like in the summer? I have heard that it is supposed to be insanely hot this year. Not fun. (Although it'll be a nice change from the last two years, especially last year, when we only had something like two weeks of proper sunshine in the summer.)

Time to get myself some higher-factor sun lotion, methinks. I need to buy some new stuff soon, anyway. I only have to be out in the sun for ten minutes before I start burning.

In other news, I'm kind of excited for Dead Space: Extraction. When I first heard about it, I assumed it was going to be a Wii-only port/remake of the first game, but I have since learned that it is a completely new game; a prequel. And I just watched a short trailer for it.

Sweet.

Right, now I'm going to go and relax, and try not to pass out from the heat. Laters.

Annoyingly, I hardly remember my dreams lately, but last night I can remember having a pretty freaking weird (and detailed) one.

I dreamt that I was sitting at a large wooden table in the car park of the supermarket I work in, and I was trying to do some work - whether it was office-style work or school-type work, I can't quite remember, but I seemed to be slacking in it. Sitting opposite me were two of my now ex-co-workers from THAT job, and I was doing my best to ignore them, even though they seemed to be ignoring me, too. I was worried that they were scrutinising and judging me, and the atmosphere was just generally uncomfortable.

Then, someone came to sit next to me, and I seem to remember that it was, for some reason, either Avril Lavigne, or someone who looked a hell of a lot like her. Unless I'm remembering wrong. Anyway, she had the same handbag as me in the dream, and we started talking about... stuff. I still felt uncomfortable, though, as I still felt as though I was being judged.

Then, for some reason, I found myself walking all the way to Longleat (near where my grandparents live), which is like a 30-minute car journey in real life, wearing nothing but a pathetically tiny white duvet, which seemed to be acting as a bathtowel, and I was gripping it tightly in case it fell open (which was increasingly difficult and tiresome, due to the duvet's thickness). It was a hot, dry, sunny day.

Soon, I came across some ground-floor apartment blocks (which don't exist in that area in real life), which were very clean, tidy and almost uniform in their appearance. The outside of the building seemed to be white, but one of the inner corridors was red and orange. Two of the corridors I can remember were a dark, poorly-lit one, with something like a fire exit sign as the only source of light, the other was the aforementioned red and orange one, and was very brightly lit by the sunlight pouring in through some big windows. Some of the doors in the building, specifically the one that opened into the interconnecting corridors, opened automatically, others (the doors to the apartments themselves) didn't even seem to have keyholes. The doors themselves seemed to be quite soft, and covered with white leather. Some parts of the corridor were decorated with red square tiles, others with red carpet, and a plush-and-wicker chair (with a teddy bear sitting in it). One of the doors in the darker corridor had a notice attached to it, but I can't remember what it said. I had the feeling that I knew the person who lived inside, though I didn't see them.

The brighter corridor, however, had a series of doors on the left hand side, and a larger door was situated right at the end. A small step lead up to it, and that was the part covered in carpet. The walls surrounding the door were covered in the red tiles, and the seat with the teddy bear was also by the door. I think there were also some plants in pots, and possibly a greenhouse-y section just outside. This particular apartment seemed familiar to me, and the identity of the person inside switched many times. At one point, though, the occupant was Mystique from X-Men (the movie version), for some reason.

I seemed to visit the car park and the apartment building more than once in the dream.

At one point, I left the building, and almost wanted to just open up the duvet covering me for a brief moment, just for a laugh, as there was no-one around, but, as I went outside and onto a pathway, a bunch of children ran by me, so I didn't. I then found myself on one of the country roads by some fields, by myself, until someone (which may have been either Euan or my mother) found me and collected me.

Then I woke up.

How odd.
